    Dear Humans and Elves,

Here you can find the Release Notes for game version 1.15, which is planned for next Wednesday. This version includes the redesigned Battle System, as well as a lot of bug fixes. Please leave your feedback in this thread :)

I would like to refer all interested parties to these 2 threads on the beta forum:

    Behind the Scenes: Battle Redesign

The New Battle System Is Terrible!

Those not having he time and/or patience to read these threads fully, underneath you will find a 'friendly' summary of the opinions of the beta players about the new battle system:

The new battle system is very unbalanced and should undergo a serious revision before being introduced on the live servers.

    Personal note:
Since the new battle system will be installed as it is right now, with no future improvements announced yet, I would encourage everyone to conquer as many provinces as they can before the update takes place - or start building a whole lot more manufactories so that you will at least be able to negotiate new provinces for your province expansions.

    Dear Community Manager,

I understand you are not the one to blame. I fully understand you are somewhat of a volunteer and are just passing along the message.
However, if you do have any kind of power or can apply any pressure, please go tell the devs and INNO to stop being so incredibly stupid.

They just need to look at the Beta forum threads to see that people are HATING this change. They just need to look to see that their battle system change is a steaming pile of cow dung, unbalanced and utterly crap.
Yet again they are going to lose players, yet again they are hurting their own game; all because they somehow think that everybody will magically start paying money to win battles. They need to pull their heads out of their collective asses and start understanding their players. Entire fellowships already quit over the Orcs, this change is going to be the same or even worse.

Newsflash for INNO; if you keep messing up your game (with P2W elements), there will be less and less people playing it and even less paying for it. Not to mention the fact that your game will get very, VERY, bad PR.
These changes will NEVER help your bottom line.

After reading the Beta forum threads I hoped that the dev's would listen and try to fix this mess before they make us go through it also. But I suppose that was naive. Anyway will try this new system out, but I have very low expectations. I'm quite worried actually...

Looking at the reaction to the last update (there was none) it has gone past the point of no return for a significant portion of dedicated players.
Maybe this will be better for those climbing the ranks but not the old guard that are at the end?

Although I can't see anything specifically mentioned in the release notes on this .. I'm told the autofight feature will no longer be available when these changes are brought in. Can someone confirm or deny that please (preferrably a game mod)

So far the AI on Beta has not been updated for use with the new battle system. Therefor using Autofight usually results in much higher losses (or even an outright loss of the battle) than manual combat.

Hi, I used to be a beta player. I quit the beta because of all the bugs and not very thought out updates.
From what I read about the latest updates to graze us, I will after trying it and find it as bad as players
stating it no longer take part playing Elvenar! Just a reminder to Elvenar Devs I've supported the
game by buying Diamonds on a regular basis which is on halt from this point on wards! I might as
well start looking for a new game where devs will listen to their customers!! o_O

    Hi everyone,

Thank you for your feedback so far. As explained on Beta as well, the changes on the World Map battles are needed to fix the big imbalance we currently have with players being able to win fights against armies that are 5-6 times as large as their own, by using certain overpowered troops. Because of this, you are able to scout and obtain provinces way further ahead than you should at this point in the game, giving the game a certain imbalance of which the consequences will be a lot bigger if we don't do something about it. Battles that are reasonable at the point in the game you're at (so against armies that are up to about twice your size), will still be winnable but when the difference between armies gets too big, it's not realistic (nor preferable in terms of game balance) to still be able to win these fights. This is the short explanation on that. On Beta I have made some pretty big posts about it, so if you want all details, by all means go and take a look there in the thread to which is linked in one of the posts above.

On the AI part: Our development team is currently looking into that. We have asked for some specific cases on Beta, so our development team can investigate this. In some cases it's about players having more than 300 provinces and therefore facing battles they just shouldn't be able to win yet and in some cases, battles should be more or less in balance so we're investigating if anything goes wrong there and if so, what it is. Auto battle will still be possible, although it is true that manual battle will give you a bit of advantage when facing stronger enemies. With the right skills, use of terrain and tactics you will be able to defeat slightly stronger enemies than when you would let the AI do all the work for you. :)

Maybe is like in the movies actor goes to casino and gets too far. But then toughs beat him because they aren't suppose to get that far. :D
Then Explain us what should player look forward to if you can't scout and fight/negotiate minimum of one province per day put those KPs into research tree and unlock tech? Just collect goods, coins, supply? Or how would someone collect relics for Core element of the game called MA and precious AWs that have unreasonable stats? (MM: 1.6% of health, ToS 1kp, 500 supply, BTG: guest production: 5%, EE: 2000 supply/24h compared to PT 5000 supply/3h)
What is expectation rate of Elvenar developers for players to accomplished one chapter? 1 year?

Simplifying by locking stuff & creating more unreasonable things you just shoot yourself in the foot.

Advanced scouting doesn't advance us in the game....we have nowhere to put any expansions we get till the next stage of the tech tree, so our progress is permanently limited by the dev's anyway, I am getting tired of being instructed they are making things harder because we are going too far. Are they also going to prevent people from buying these provinces with diamonds?...no, of course not. I just hope that people don't reward INNO's techniques by giving them more money.

Just shift your focus from far away provinces to tournaments. They are a great alternative to keep on fighting realistic battles and acquiring relics :)

No, nothing is "permanently" limited. World Map progression is temporarily limited if you are far ahead of where it should be, in terms of game balance. When new Chapters are introduced, new "Advanced Scouts" and "Squad Size Upgrade" techs will be introduced as well, which will lower your scouting costs, scouting times, strength of enemy troops in these provinces and which will increase your own strength, so these provinces will be conquerable for you by then. In the mean time, you will also keep getting the tech tree city map expansions.

I do play tournaments. But catering costs are too big and with fighting you can't come far unless you play tournaments every 14 days and waiting 16h per level means no Level 6. Unless I become zombie and you don't want that or do you?

City Expansions from tech tree only are not enough. This isn't FoE.

You are permanently limited...if you are at the end of the tech tree...as a lot of longstanding players are...before the next guest races appear one of the few things you can do is clear provinces. With each stage of the tech tree you only get a few squares of extra space, so you end up with expansions you save until the next race turns up. As you can never increase your village above the maximum the devs decide you can have at each stage of the tree it is impossible to grow above what they want........so I am getting tired of being told that the Battle redesign is to prevent people expanding to far, all it will do is make the game more tedious that it is already becoming. What is the point of logging in if you haven't anything interesting to do...just put up daily productions and come on once every 24 hours for 10 mins..is that really what they want?

If that is the case maybe they could consider renaming from fantasy city builder to idle city builder.

    My bold.
(being super careful as my last post got deleted..)

So you mean that the players chose to play in a certain way that advantaged them (that is perfectly legit and is how the game was designed) and the devs do not want people to play outside what the devs feel is the "right" way to play, rather than "play how you want"?

Just asking for future reference, I would like to know if this is a "play how you like" or "do it the way we want" game.

This is true of course :) As in almost every city builder: Each chapter/era/level/whatever you call it , should have a maximum city size that's available to a player on that stage of their progress. That's what keeps you having to think strategically about how to design your city as efficiently as possible in the limit space you have available, which is a big part of the fun of a city builder.

Yes and no. To be clear about this: We don't say anyone did anything wrong, or did something that wasn't legit. What we say is that the current system has flaws in it, which gives possibilities it shouldn't give because they are disrupting the game balance. This was not how the game was designed, but it was the result of bad balancing in the battle system, which is now going to be corrected. Again: Noone is blaming you for progressing as far as you can, bceause that's totally fine. It just shouldn't have been possible to get this far ahead in the first place, which is not your fault but ours :)
