Dear Humans and Elves,

Please use this thread to discuss the Multiplayer in the Spire of Eternity update.

We're looking forward to your feedback!

This is fun!
We enjoyed it in Beta!!
Stages One and Two are very do-able; Stage three is expensive. But if you just do the first two, you can make about 200 Diamonds, and lots of other useful things, including Magic Buildings and Genies!!

Here are the extra fellowship bonuses up for grabs:

Question:

As opposed to Tournaments, where even the barest of individual contribution, a solving a single 5-point tourney encounter, will get you a copy of all the fellowship rewards earned by the whole fellowship, multiplayer tourney fellowship rewards are proportionate to your contribution.

I assume, but am not sure, that this proportion is based on participating members, not on all members. Is that correct?

For example, if in a fellowship of 20 players, only 10 players participate and earn 500 points, does a participating player need to have contributed 50 points, the average for all participants, or 25 points, the average of all fellowship members, in order to qualify for all fellowship earned rewards?

@Sir Derf, from what I understood there are two conditions to get each reward in the reward ladder shown above:
1) The fellowship needs to collect enough points to unlock the reward. Yes, I know, this is the straightforward condition. :)
2) The individual player has to solve the corresponding encounter in the Spire. That’s what they call “fellowship rewards are proportionate to your contribution”.

Examples:
- When the player solves the first level, but the fellowship collects enough points to earn the second level rewards, the player still only gets the first level fellowship rewards.
- When the player solves whole Spire, but fellowship participation is poor and fellowship points only suffice for the first level rewards, the player only gets the first level Fellowship rewards. (The math might not fit there, but I’m only trying to show the principle.)

I’m sincerely curious about the new multiplayer Spire.

Thank you for your explanation, but I was looking for a more hard numbers explanation.

Looking at the above posted progress bar, which I assume came from Beta play, so might not match when it comes to live, the progress bar has 12 stages, 4 per level, at each of the gates, so every 4 spire encounters.

The Fellowship total showed values of 880. 1080 and 1330 at the top. This indicates that, at least from the fellowship point of view, the stages are not evenly spaced. What are the other values, and more importantly, what are the point values contributed by the individual player at each stage?

Thanks, That gave more info, and looking back through the Beta forum, found the others.

Spirit Essence gained by the individual:
1 per regular encounter
2 per mini boss [gates 1-3]
3 per map boss

So, a player gets 5, 5, 5 and 6 points per gate, 21 points per map, 63 points max for all three maps.

Spirit Essence per Fellowship Reward:
10, 30, 60, 110, 180, 270, 380, 520, 690, 880, 1080, 1330.

There are many ways to mix-and-match these numbers.

The only player in the fellowship.

Solve 8 encounters (2 gates, 0.5 maps), earn 10 points, earn 1 chest.
Solve 24 encounters (6 gates, 1.5 maps), earn 31 points, earn 2 chests.
Solve 48 encounters (12 gates, 3 maps), earn 63 points, earn 3 chests.

Balanced play:

Reward 1 at 10 points, requires 2 players to gate 1 (2*5=10 points).
Reward 2 at 30 points, requires 3 players to gate 2 (3*10=30 points).
Reward 3 at 60 points, requires 4 players to gate 3 (4*15=60 points).
Reward 4 at 110 points, requires 6 players to gate 4 (6*21=126 points).
Reward 5 at 180 points, requires 7 players to gate 5 (7*26=182 points).
Reward 6 at 270 points, requires 9 players to gate 6 (9*31=279 points).
Reward 7 at 380 points, requires 11 players to gate 7 (11*36=396 points).
Reward 8 at 520 points, requires 13 players to gate 8 (13*42=546 points).
Reward 9 at 690 points, requires 15 players to gate 9 (15*47=705 points).
Reward 10 at 880 points, requires 17 players to gate 10 (17*52=884 points).
Reward 11 at 1080 points, requires 19 players to gate 11 (19*57=1083 points).
Reward 12 at 1330 points, requires 22 players to gate 12 (22*63=1386 points).

Cheers for that breakdown, sir Derf. Just started playing it. Looks interesting. We'll have to see how peer pressure affects how much I and my fellowship play it.

I can't say I dislike this new feature. I'm thinking I might even actually like it, as weird as it sounds, given that the last thing I liked since this game took a shareholder-oriented direction. Having guaranteed CCs and Teleports is a very good thing indeed - nobody that I know of likes RNG outside of loot-based games, and since Elvenar is no such game, it's a refreshing change, especially after the catastrophic RNG^ᴿᴺᴳ failure that this Winter event embodies.

My only concern is that, as I said on Beta, some FSs might pressure players into partaking in something they don't want to, much more so than the tournament. However that's not something that personally affects me, and I understand balancing this towards players who decide to play solo or in very small FSs could prove very difficult - unlike balancing Events, which could be accomplished with the very simple use of flags to prevent players from winning multiple GPs, if that's the intention, and giving alternatives to quests that endgame players simply cannot complete in less than 90+ hours - wait, actually there'd be an easy way to balance that! Admitting the mistake and reverting back to the old system, would you think of that!

Sorry, it's hard not to digress by making comparison between things that get released concurrently, especially when one's quite positive and the other is unsalvageable trash.

I've just read up on this and realize I'm in advance of the others in the fellowship and have to wait for more players to earn points

I like the feature in theory.

But as long as the boss chest contains a 10% PP as "grand" prize (which I got twice now) - I am not interested in the whole spire anymore. Sorry, not sorry.

Considering the difficulty and effort of getting all 12 chests the 12th chest rewards are pretty poor.

Why not swap the 12th chests Portal Profit for something really rewarding like a Blueprint? That would make it worth the effort.
