"Collecting at Maximum" behaviour

So, before today, whenever I tried to collect, say, coins while at maximum, the coins barr would turn red, the icon over the houses would turn grey, and it wouldn't let me collect. Today, it keeps collecting 1 coin from each house and the coins reserve stays 1 short of maximum. Is this because I'm upgrading my Trader for some reason, or did Inno muck up in the patch that was supposed to fix things the previous patch screwed up, or what?

EDIT: Getting coins from neighbourly help works as normal.
