Can anyone confirm this? I agree that in Team Spirit they're pretty pointless as they give the easiest to produce resource.
I've got quite a stash of them and am hesitant to disenchant too many 'just in case'.

Yeah, I haven't disenchanted any yet because you never know, but gone are the times when portal profits would speed up your progress... Unless someone says it changes in later chapters.

It's all relative perhaps, but when I need 20 or 30K to upgrade an AW, the disenchantment 'rewards' are not gonna cut the mustard.@Pauly7 They are worth a lot of sf so they are indeed always useful
I'd be happy if the Inno tightwads would provide greater disenchantment rewards. Can we buy SFs with diamonds?

The thing is with any kind of discussion about disenchantment rewards, you can't make it part of the calculation. It is just a bonus extra. It isn’t sustainable. So (slightly) more sadly, you can only really compare the amount of SF you are using to the amount you can collect through regular gameplay.

I have come to loathe Portal Profits. I usually graft through the Chapters as I'm not in any hurry, maybe zapping one or two if I'm 'nearly there' and a couple of them will finish a sloooow research that's just dragging on way past an acceptable time.
There was a time where I got nothing but PPs from the Spire and my hatred for them grew over 4 years. Then it was SFs, now it's PPs again.
On Felyndral I have 100s and disenchant them when the AWs need or events ask for SFs, and Arendillylilly & Winnyandoria also have huge stocks of them.
Did I mention I hate them?
On Fellyndralia I have a LV10 Tinlug - love him - and a healthy CC balance now, whereas I crafted and time boosted them all the time and didn't have time for other spell crafting... over on A & W cities, I recently crafted Tinlug with excitement in the MA and the following Sunday his artefacts appeared in the Spire prizes.

For 2 weeks.
One is Lv3, the other Lv4 after 2 Spire sessions. (I had thought that at that rate I'd have them both completed in the 6 week cycle).
Suddenly, the Spire is full of other things - which is great - but they are pushing the chance of Tinlug artefact wins down to 1%, and since the Spire favours giving me those annoying green things I really don't want or need - did I say how much I detest them? - over everything else, the artefact chance is 0%.
I think there are 2 more Spire rounds before the next cycle of artefacts comes in, then it will be diamond purchases for them in the MA (better than not at all, I suppose), and what..? 3 years? ... before they cycle round again.
Before I open any Gold, Purple, Blue door or Boss chests I know I will get a Portal Profit. Frog Prince is the worst for giving them week after week.
Today - at the last Boss - I looked at the % chance, and the PP sat at 10% along with 7 other prizes (or whatever it is), and the arty was at an awesome, unobtainable 5% (Thanks Inno... thanks a LOT)... what did I get? Well it was green and round... and I was so angry I went to my inventory and disenchanted a load, spamming the button (and swearing).
Of course, I appreciate that some players get by using them, but I.Hate.Them.
I can avoid the Spire, of course... but everything else we can win there is fine: WHEN it lets me have something different to a PP for a change.
I'd like to see NO portal ploppit in the final chest. What a booby prize!
I truly believe that whatever the % shown, it's not genuine; I think the reality is that the PP is at 90% chance, which is why it's so frequently given.

I also DO NOT open the event orbs/ chests/ other with a PP in it. Twice today I half-asleep-played and opened 2 orbs at the highest cost not looking at the contents and they both gave me the dreaded things at 3% chance.

I've come to believe that the percentage varies depending on what you need and what you don't need.
For instance I tend to get a lot of artifacts. I don't need any of them. But the one time I did need them (forgot which one it was) I got maybe 1 or 2. In the city where I need teleports I hardly get them, in the one where I don't need them as much they appear frequently. The only good thing about the Spire changes for me where the RRs added, I'm desperately in need of those in one city. But ofc I haven't gotten a single one whereas in the city where I have loads of them I did get a bunch.
Since the changes to the Spire I'm getting nothing but SF (I don't need them, have plenty), Flower tomes (0 use for those too) and PPs (have 100s of those, mostly use them to complete SF quests).
I've really tried to give this new Spire a chance but so far I'm very disappointed
I miss the time instants, those along with teleports are my favorite prizes (diamonds too ofc)

I don't know why Inno changed the Spire. Perhaps because we were enjoying it the way it used to be.I've really tried to give this new Spire a chance but so far I'm very disappointed

This week on Arendyl I had to give up the Spire 6 chests b4 the top; too diverse in troops for me to fight (no room for buffs, though I plan to store 2 guest race buildings to make room as the artefact is rather important to me at the mo), goods squandered (lost due to RNG) in convincing to the point of nothing left, and all thrown in the gutter to come away with nothing...
Why don't they WANT me to have the artefacts? WHY make it sooo hard to get them? What do they gain with their stinginess?

Oh, me too. After this week I don't want to play it anymore, but my FS does like a Gold Spire...I've really tried to give this new Spire a chance but so far I'm very disappointed

I also wonder why the Inno PTB keep making the game more punishing. I can only imagine that they think it will force players to buy more diamonds. Or am I being too cynical?

It is a shame to have less 5 hr time reducers, but to be fair the numbers we had got used to were quite ridiculous numbers. Years ago there was no such thing in the game.
Portal profits, I think they became rarer in recent times because a lot of people used to complain about them, myself included. Truth is, with my small city I will take any PP instant I can get and they are always great prizes. I even craft every one I can get. It's true that my main city doesn't need them, but it's something to disenchant.
What I have noticed is that the Spire now gives out insane numbers of spell fragments. The past few weeks I haven't been upgrading any AWs due to the requirement for Royal Restorations to upgrade them (for me this is the real evil to complain about.) Right now I am back up to over 200k of them. That seems to be the prize every other chest.
On the whole I still don't object to the new Spire. The bit that bugs me are The Tomes. Maybe it's just me, but if I am going to get a prize why not just give me a prize. I don't care much about having a choice, but what I don't like is having a big pile of books somewhere that I have forgotten what's in them.
