Hello all. I would be interested to get some general opinions on the TSoY wonder. I’ve placed it in my city and levelled it to 6. I’m finding it very underwhelming with regards to the culture it gives. To give you an idea of my circumstances, I’m in the Embassies chapter and have 267 wonder levels. I can’t help but compare it to the Martial Monestary and Watchtower Ruins for their culture contributions and feel like it’s not worth the space. Even with the bonus to population.

Any thoughts?

I think you are looking at the wrong end of that thing. It´s all about the population, the culture is just a little add-on, pointless by itself.
And yes if you ask me it´s a useless AW I haven´t built it nor will I ever. It has its specialist uses for a few towns, but most people won´t benefit from it much.
It is a good AW if you:
1. Have GA at level 30
2. MHalls at level 30
3. All your pop comes from the above 2 AWs and Magic Residences only, but not from event buildings (or anything except AWs and MRes).

So if ALL of those 3 condidtions are met, it may be of use. If one of the above is not met, you will be served better by working on the above 3 options first. After that is done, start TSoY. There are a few big towns out there that pull this off quite well and I am certain the TSoY has a valuable place in their town, but the average Joe is wasting their resources on it.

Thanks for your reply Gargon. Interesting stuff. Ironically I placed it to help out with culture and thought the population boost would be a nice bonus. I do have my GA at 30, my MH is 28 and about 60% of my residences are magical. With that in mind it might be that I compromise on it for now. Keep it but hold off on levelling it further until my residences catch up.
