Answered Storage for Granite

Hi Everyone, I'm still new to the game, and I don't know how to move forward.
To advance I need to unlock the Dwarven style Barracks, but I can't because I need 20.0k of Granite and I only have storage for 11.1k.
I can't build more storage by getting another Dwarven portal, because it says that I already reached the building limit, and I can't buy the activation costs because I don't have enough diamonds and wouldn't help anyways, because I need 25.0k to unlock the coppery factory.
What am I missing?

As @Verde says the simple answer is to Upgrade the Dwarven Portal, this will apply throughout every upcoming chapter in the game.

The general pattern is, Guest Race buildings generate Guest Race resources, which are kept in the Guest Race Portal. While some of these Guest Resources are uncapped, similar to Marble, Steel and Planks, others are capped, similar to Coins and Supplies. The cap on Coins and Supplies increases when you upgrade your Main Hall; similarly, the cap on Guest Race resources increases when you upgrade the Guest Race Portal.

And when you've decided you like this game so much that you stick around for all the other chapters as well, you will eventually finish Chapter 15 (The Elvenar) and unlock the Elvenar Ancient Wonders, which allows you to build the Vortex of Storage AW, to increase your portal storage capacity even further. Something to look forward to
