I am trying to upgrade my Level 4 Armory to 5 which need more tiles. So I have put at end of a path with lots of space around it but still will not upgrade and opens research. Have checked and all requirements met. Any hints?

Have you researched Advanced Armory yet? Until you do you won't be able to upgrade Armories to level 5 and above.

For me there is no ADVANCED ARMORY ... what am I missing? I've got these ...

Spot of Whispering trees ...
What am I missing? I have a quest to 'Complete Advanced Armory' .... can Anyone help please?

You need to research the Advanced Armory in your tech which is after the above mentioned researched that you have quoted,
