Yep, I personally know quite a few people who've stopped playing because of the tournament changes. The most common thing I've heard is that they don't see the point in continuing when they have no idea whether upgrading a wonder or placing an expansion is going to harm them.
Before this happened I very rarely would see anyone cite a specific reason at all for leaving - save for the usual, such as not having time to play any more.
