Disconnected non-producing Ancient Wonders

This feels weird, but is there a downside to disconnecting an Ancient Wonder like the the Mountain Halls? It doesn't produce anything like coins or supplies, and I'm not currently planning on adding KP to it. It provides population to my city, but does it need to be connected to the road network for my city to receive the population benefits?

I tried it for you. Population remains unchanged. What changes is the boost it gives to your production. When disconnected, that bonus is not available anymore.
