I have seen it occasionally in one of my cities where i haven't yet crafted them to remove them from the pool.

yes unless you already have the buildings in your inventory/town

however if I may add my opinion, it is far better in the inventory than in the town

It's more of a phase. Still in my town, but not for much longer. Soon a growing building will need more room "to the right", so that will be the end of the match!

I collected one when they were first released; it looks good with the Sorceror/Dragon buildings. I have a couple of Moonstone Library sets in their place now

I never really wanted a giant chess set to be sat there. If it had come coupled with a giant pub garden then it could've been a winner! Like many others I just crafted all the bits so they would stop appearing in the crafting selection.
