Rune Shards - a minor grumble

So there are four possible ancient wonders at my level (more coming up very soon!).
I have 1 built.
I also have 21 rune shards spare for that particular wonder.
OMG my other wonders are wondering when they will get built!
Why so much love for my endless excavation.
Anyone else have this problem?

I am in wood elf chapter and I can't even build the Excavation yet due to a lack of those particular runes.

It's all RNG

When you upgrade an AW using rune shards you will find that many break into shard pieces. When you have 10 you'll be able to forge a rune shard in any of your AWs. Having many of one does prove useful later as you'll break quite a few trying to fill the last few spaces .

Yeah, what Brienne said! I even build and delete AW i do not want, to use those runes to make broken shards

Plus with the new tournament chest revamp, I find getting runes quicker and easier now.
