Hi everyone

Im new to the game, loving it so far, and was looking for tips and advice on a few things.

Firstly, I play using a tablet and have heard the pc version has the option to play tournaments as well as other features not available for the mobile app. In your opinion, am i missing out using the mobile app, is it worth using the pc version?

In terms of fighting to complete a province, what is the best way to ensure you win, as often im defeated and have to train new fighters as mine get wipped out, even though im using the appropriate fighters against the enemy sqads. So far im updating my barracks (level 4), training new fighters as much as i can, have one armoury (level 3), and have unlocked the first two squad size updates.

Any tips or advice on game play greatly appreciated!

Personally, I do believe that you are missing out:
Tournaments are a great boon for Knowledge Point (KPs), Relics, Rune shards, etc.

I do like the interface on the app for Neighborly Help, but I start on the PC version to be able to collect those 3 treasure chest 1st. Only then do I move to the app version for expediency. I hear that the PC version is in the process of updating to be more like the app version in this regard. I look forward to that eventually.

There are other functionalities that are not present on the app version too that I feel are essential to the game (I understand that the devs are working on them). If I am not mistaken contributions to AWs are an example here, plus fellowship circular messages, etc.

At some point, the two versions will reach parity, but that could be a long way off. And, I am sure, there will be folks that like and do not like this convergence.

I am a passive player (negotiations only) so I can't speak to fighting techniques. But there are many sites on the web that have primers and exhaustive strategies for tournament fights as well as province fights (there seem to be unique situations for either category).

Check out Platinum Leaf on Facebook (you can also search for them on this forum). Jack L and his team have put in a lot of work to create hundreds (or more) vids that help us all out. I don't have the link because I am not a Facebook person, sorry.

Some other resources that I find very helpful (lots of info with some specifics on fighting):

Greetings! You are doing things right. I have been fighting in this battle system since its release in the fall of 2016 and the one time I tried to clear a province from my phone I got my butt handed to me. I had several issues: province difficulty was not viewable (they are colour coded), I could not manual fight and I have a sneaky suspicion that none of my bonuses were applied! When I checked the province difficulty level was yellow (that's pretty standard for just before a size upgrade for my chapter - Woodelves) so I should have won!
But in the lower chapters you will be solving into the orange and red.

Battle advice is available in several places. Look in Elvenar's wiki - there should be a link from here. Mykan has several fight videos and those can found there or thru Jack Luyt's Facebook support site Platinum Leaf. Jack himself is a treasure :) Some of his former crew have their own sites: Gamers Gems of Knowledge on the web and Gems of Elvenar on Facebook. Good luck

As mentioned the PC has more features than the app, currently, they are regularly improving both so they have the same features.

As to combat the fights in provinces in chapters 2-4 are the hardest in the game, you will likely be forced to negotiate through these. During chapter 4 the difficulty of provinces starts to drop to yellow and you should be able to start winning. If you skip the optional squad size techs it will take longer to get there.

Tournaments have a fixed difficulty rating and much smaller squad sizes so they are a great practice and learning tool, plus you get rewards.. Some great website links posted above. For the ones in my guide I suggest:

and

I have a guide on the EN forum but it is not as up-to-date as the US forum ones.
