Forest Fabrication

Can anyone explain why the forest fabrication cannot be unlocked until after city expansion 37, yet to unlock 37 you need items that are produced in the forest fabrication?

Because Forest Fabrication is part of another path. You need to follow the one for the fabrication first, then come BACK to the path containing the expansion.

I've taken a look at my knowledge tree and you don't need to unlock City Expansion 37 to unlock Forest Fabrication.
After Woodelves Style Main Hall you can research Forest Glade and then Forest Trail and then Forest Fabrication.

Woodelves is funny that way. You run the tech in the centre of the tree all the way to the end and then come back and do the top and bottom.
