Fellowship Adventures - Waypoints?

The game states at waypoints you can change direction to another path (ambassadors & above). Have completed the waypoint but cannot see how to do this ??? ----- Help Please!!

If that waypoint is now unlocked then surely all you would need to do is then click on the point that it leads to either to the left or right and pick up the other path.
