Question simple trails

Hi im new to the forum so this might come as a stupid question .But im being asked to make 5 simple trails . What does it mean ?

Simple trails are a kind of footpath, you will find them in your buildings menu. Click the hammer and nails icon at the bottom of the screen (on the browser game).

And on the app version, tap the hammer icon labelled Buildings in the bottom right corner. Then scroll right in the tab called 'Basics'.

You will have needed to activate the research item called Simple Trails, found towards the end of the research tree for Chapter 1, to be able to place a simple trail.
