Answered Radiant Stones

I am completely flummoxed by the rate of reward of radiant stones in the spire
In my fellowship, we're currently mostly at the same stage.
One person with Battle Skill 642 is getting 27 stones per fight; another with 668 19 per win; another with 603, just 5 per win and one with 608 11 per win.

Can anyone make that make sense for me please?
 
There may be more than one reason @RaviTheStout, but I have heard that the higher your Spire Battle Score (SBS), the more 'rewards' you are supposed to receive.

My SBS has reached over 1K now, but I think the game is not overly generous with Radiant Stones rewards. I've gradually amassed 30K Radiant Stones, but I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing. I buy all the useful Harold's Shop goodies every six weeks, so my Radiant Stones numbers fluctuate too much for me to make much sense of the whole song and dance. o_O
 
I like you @RaviTheStout have SBS of around the numbers you quote, up and down each week. I kinda now view these radiant stones and the shop as an irrelevance because I can only buy something I want once in a blue moon so have side-lined this particular feature. Congratulations @SkyRider99 hun well done.
 
There was some discussion here, as I understand it the number displayed was glitchy but what you actually got was correct.

Fixed - Radiant Stones In Spire Chests

Today I ran up the Spire and from the first chest to the last chest I only recieved 42 radiant stones per chest. For the final level I should have been getting 126 radiant stones per chest. My Spire rank is 1070. Can someone look into this please as I have lost out on a load of radiant stones!

I've a feeling that the fluctuation in amount is possibly due to a combination of Spire Battle Skill AND Diplomacy Streak! But I may be wrong!?
 
I know that I'm getting about 230 pointy stones a throw now, not that I really need them.

I think we've all given up on diplomacy in our Fellowship! I guess we're not the diplomatic types :D
The numbers changed today, but still we have people with higher skill and in a higher chapter (so harder battles as I understand it) getting lower points than those with lower skill. Just seems odd /boggle

in the first level, the first fight should give you base (e.g. 5), every 4th boss adds another base (e.g 5+5), and the final boss adds a 3rd base (e.g 5+5+5).
in the second level, the first fight will start with double base (2x5), every 4th boss adds another base, and the final boss once again adds another base.
in the third level, the first fight will start with triple base (3x5), and so on.

That's very mean considering that you need a minimum of a thousand to get anything from Harold's shop.
 
So with the question in mind, how do I get more pointy (radiant) stones this is what my search threw up.

I listened to my AM saying they'd bought 100K Wishing Well, I cannot seem to amass more than 5K of stones, I only spend the odd 2K on normal bits and bobs; pet food, CC's that kind of thing. Have I really got to negotiate to improve things as well as fight?

"Tips for Maximizing Stones:
  • Prioritize Strategy: Fight in the first map where it is easy to win, and use a mix of fighting/negotiating in higher, tougher levels.
  • Use Boosters: Employ boosters and upgraded Ancient Wonders to improve your performance in the Spire.
  • Manage Resources: Keep up with Spire timings to maximize your total stones per cycle. " (what's this?)
How do you improve your performance, it's either win or lose isn't it? I do, fight and win mostly unless I am not concentrating and lose to try again, by fighting. I do it in one go normally using boosters and I only use Twilight Phoenix for a 1% return on troops, no DA's, obviously have a whole bunch of AW's. I do not use the DA in effort to keep SBS around the 700 mark, I keep trying to get troops to a level where losses don't matter one week, but it's constant renewal. Just feel something off and not sure what? If I use a DA if I have one the SBS goes up, more losses but more stones? TIA.

It's exactly that, yes.
As your fighting AWs grow and you have more troop boosters then the losses will be less. I only fight now, in earlier chapters I would only negotiate and got quite despondent with the resource costs. I shifted my focus to fighting and it's definitely paid off.

I think this is referring to when Shady Harold restocks his shop. Getting everything you want while it's available before the 6 week reset.

Ha! The more the merrier (not unlike chocolate :D)

If you're struggling to keep up with the numbers of troops you're losing you have to tweak your strategy.
Losing less being as important as producing more.
Try not to stress about your SBS, it will naturally rise and fall a bit around your own average but the average will grow as your game does.

:) so dear chocolate fiend how and what do I tweak. Strategy? Pretty basic, select some troops and charge up the Spire. Not very sophisticated ;)

Try ignoring it for a few weeks, mine sits between 1250 and 1330 but I honestly can't tell the difference in fighting difficulty. It's probably quite subtle changes in troop losses that make the algorithm do it's thing.

I think the biggest lesson for me in the spire was to retreat early. If you get thumped in the first wave of a 2/3 wave battle, you will almost certainly lose all of your troops. It's not giving up, it's a tactical retreat :cool:. Or use vitality surges if you have.

The correct troops. Figuring out what hits harder or what can take more hits helps a lot.
The fighting pentagon is useful but it's not cast in stone. I don't know the names (will have to post screenshots) but there's, for example, a LM that is weak against mages.
