Answered Orcs before Level 7

I have been asked to negotiate with Orcs to complete provinces before I have reached the Orcs level. Is this problem common in the community? Thanks for for feedback, Pix

There are buildings that produce orcs, but I don't think any work until 8. Orc Nest, Frostgem, Witch's Hut

I think you just have to wait until you are in 8

A little bit of waiting doesn't hurt. It allows you to build Needles of Tempest to 14, and Bulwark to about 7

Hi @PixLou

So it looks like you've finally hit the "Orc Wall" which is something a LOT of Players do! This is a consequence of over scouting a tad to get those all important Expansions.

You won't actually be able to produce Orcs until you reach the Orcs and Goblins Chapter and Research "Armory - Breeding Grounds"

BUT in the meantime as @Fligigel has kindly pointed out, this will give you ample time to start working on your City and upgrading those all important Ancient Wonders that will help you on your Journey.

Hope that helps!

Kind Regards

Herodite :)

I also had this problem. The option is to fight instead of negotiate, if your armies are strong enough to do so.

Thanks. I have concentrated on negotiation so I guess I will rely on City expansions and building up my existing cities until I get to Orcs.

Thanks. It is good to know there is an "Orc Wall" At least I am not alone.

As per normal, @Herodite is absolutely right. But for you just now @PixLou it gives you time to plan how many 'Armory Breeding Grounds' you can fit into your city. I found that seven (7) was a good number. Your mileage may differ.

I have 3 armouries in one city and 4 in the other. This works for me. However, there have been recent posts saying that one or two are enough if you have certain Ancient Wonders, because armouries use up lots of your culture, population and space, and are not the best way of getting Orcs (or fighting units).

No orcs until chapter 7. Once you have done the first research for the chapter, you will be able to get orcs from orc nests, or some other culture buildings that also gives daily orcs, even if you have not unlocked the armoury research, as mentioned by Herodite. Note that the building must have been gained in chapter 7 or levelled up to chapter 7. A lower chapter orc nest will likely only give you tools.

There is more than one way to skin the cat, as the saying goes. I have chosen a different set of AWs, so I can't estimate if there is a 'better way'. :)

I do like how my Armories pump out orcs every twelve (12) hours though. Plus they give my PlayerScore a big kick. The game has more than a few negatives and it's nice positive (for me) to have reached a fairly high score over the years.
