...maybe – but do we need some provision for the next 14 chapters now? ...that's the point of this thread - how can we get all these expansions in time...or do we have to wait 10 years before we can buy them all...

..again - 14x14 was enough space for the next 2 chapters/years - there was no need to expand it - at the release of chapter 21 we had 13x14, then they have unlocked the next row for Chapter 22 this summer - that would last for the next 2 years...
...I understand, why they expanded the landscape - that's been done a few times since I've been playing - but why are there so many expansions to choose from now if I can't get them...
...the problem is that some players place their new expansions in the same row, instead of a square - this then extremely hinders further city building and the more space there is, the bigger this beginner's problem becomes...

It does not make it conclusive to quote half my sentence. I said maybe something is afoot, but it didn't look strange to me.
OK, I will say that it is a pretty large extra area that does seem to future proof them for many years. It wouldn't surprise me if they are about to make about 20 new premium expansions available for mega-diamonds, for those who have bought all the previous ones. Other than that, it may just be a product of them re-designing the landscape and they were like: "Right we haven't got to touch extra rows for ages now".
On the landscape, that interests me. They have very particularly made three new spaces in the water. That must be for something because there would be no point destroying that previous beautiful architecture otherwise.

..yes, I also think that this change affects the background more than the additional expansions...
...in the beginning you could click on the wonder images in the background (which you only have in the browser version) and get to the (foreign) wonder - so you didn't have to search for long if you wanted to donate - but then that no longer worked - there are only images from the 3rd to the 6th wonder (i.e. monastery/lighthouse to fairy wonder), that's because these were the first wonders in the game - abyss, excavation, tomes and needles, thrones and ruins came into the game afterwards...
...I think that the new spire wonder is a kind of fellowship wonder, since it is different from the other wonders (it has different stages of expansion - it changes its appearance)...If that is the case, then this wonder probably won't be in in your own city area, but in the background and will only be available as long as you are in the fellowship that has this wonder - but that's just speculation...
EDIT: message to myself: you have to change the translation back to English before you save the Edit....

Thanks @Romilly. Certainly I was wondering what their schemes involved....yes, and this was the reason (I think), why @SkyRider99 asked for it...
And it just felt extremely unfair to have the possibility of much-needed city space, but no way to get it, unless I was being forced to wait 14 years to have any chance.

I don't think it's either really, haha. I just don't think they would take the time to remove a bunch of things from the scenery unless they were planning to put something else in. Something's going there, I just don't know what. Could be this new FS Wonder, but does that account for all three spaces? Maybe not.I have to admire your optimism @Pauly7. Or is it faith in their good intentions?
That being said... Could the extra lake to the right be purely extra space if they have added extra rows to the right of the playing area? I don't think anything has been removed here.
