I see that our city maps have been upgraded to show 47 new city expansions.

I'm in Ch.22, which offers 2 research expansions, and doesn't even begin to fill the previously available expansions.

How will the new expansions be made accessible? Chapter 100? :eek:

Why don't the misers let us have more expansions for provinces scouted, instead of locking us out?

Or how about Chapter 23 research is all city expansions, and no tyrannical guest race? :rolleyes:

...there is speculation as to whether the announced spire wonder will be placed in this lake and whether it will be some kind of fellowship wonder - if that is the case, more fellowship wonders will probably follow (perhaps as a replacement for the perks?)...

...I also suspect that at some point expansions will no longer be available with diamonds but with sapphires and then perhaps they will be cheaper again (21.000+ diamonds are far too expensive for 25 small fields) - maybe the limit will then be increased?...

My apologies, I've no idea how i've missed this! o_O

Right so the new Chapter provides an additional 2 Research Expansions, and I understand that another 1 Province Expansion can be gained.

And I believe an additional 2 Premium Expansions have been added... so a total of 5!

That's as it stands for the time being! I've not been made aware of any additional Expansions forthcoming above and beyond these as yet!

@Herodite - yes, we know that - with chapter 22 we can have a total of 184 expansions, and with 5 new per chapter it will still fit in the former space of 14x14=196 expansions for a while (2 years?) - but now we have a space of 16x16=256 expansions, that means there is space till chapter 36? (14 years?)...and if things continue as before, the last premium expansion would then cost 35500 diamonds...

@Romilly If there's one thing I know, it's that Inno does like to prepare in advance by a good couple of years so it doesn't surprise me to see the grid expanded to that extent BUT whether the Expansions are going to be drip fed to us with each new Chapter I honestly couldn't say.

Space in our beloved Cities continues to evade us!!

...we're with chapter 22 at a limit of 700 completed provinces, which was earlier released in June this year - first the premium expansions where unlimited and much cheaper, but diamonds where only available with real money - than they changed the costs with update 1.17 (Nov. 2016) and limited it to 23 Premiums - this was then expanded by two premium expansions in each chapter from Chapter 10 (Feb. 2017) onward - beside that we had a limit of 60 province expansions for 457 completed provinces till the release of chapter 15 and this limit were expanded with every new chapter by one...

...however, you don't have to be in Chapter 22 to purchase all province and premium expansions

The big empty lake appeared a long time ago. No explanation was forthcoming as to why though.

Regarding expansions, I am not certain what the query is. When they expand the grid area they are only going to do it by whatever number is needed to make it a slightly larger square or rectangle. They don't just add a little lump on the corner. That then future proofs them for however many chapters it takes to use them all up, then they do it again.

How can we access, open, unlock, use the expansions?

The game shows I have zero (0) placeable expansions. But there are 47 new and unavailable expansions. So, to put the question another way,

Why am I disallowed access to all these city expansions?
