Name change???

I know that my game name cannot be changed because it doesn't break any rules and so I know that. But when I started again (I played this in 2016, got spat out and couldn't face starting again) I completely forgot that once you settle on a name, that is your name. I wish I had chosen a more elvish name or at least wish I had picked a more general one. I just wonder why we can't. Again, I know you can't just praying to the elvish gods to make it happen.

That is the thing, I don't want to start my city again. I did make two other cities with different names but they are so new I don't like them as much, its too much work.

It does always seem strange that you can't. You could take offence to your own name and report it as offensive.

Fun story. My name, as you can see, has absolutely zero imagination. When I first started playing this game I'd never heard of Elvenar. I was bored at one moment of one afternoon, saw it and started playing. It said to me that I must have a name to continue, so I was like "errrr... Pauly". Then it said that name is taken, so I was like "errrr... Pauly7". I thought that this would literally be the only occasion on which I ever played Elvenar, so it didn't matter. Now, 8 years later, I'm still playing and still stuck with the rubbish name.

Some of the registered names can indeed be a breach of our Game Rules. Things like real life information, something that breaks copyright, indecent/rude, others trying to get around the rules by using symbols/numbers etc: to create a player name that otherwise would not be acceptable....In these cases Support can step in, if you are not sure, send a ticket across and explain the situation and we can happily take a look!

There was one in my area who used to donate to my AWs whose name always made me laugh. Eventually his name got changed by the mods to something that just had the initials of the original name. I probably can't say what it was here, for at least two reasons... which takes some of the impact out of my anecdote!

When asked for a name I couldn't think of anything. I then thought of builder as I was going to build a city. That name was taken and Sunrise Builder was one of the suggestions that popped up, so I took it. It's not too bad, some have even said its a pretty name, but I would rather have thought of something better!

This depends on the copyright @BlueBlou To give an example of Disney. Snow White and the Seven Dwarves is in the public domain so not copyrighted. However the names of all of the Dwarves are copyrighted. So it is not quite so cut and dry. The same as anyone using their real life information, be that part of their real name, dob, address etc: if the player name gives anything that could identify a person, then it would be against our Game Rules.
