Grossly unfair

I know there other threads about this, but one more won't hurt.
This mermaid thing has tied up 216 squares of mine for T1. Because i have steel.

Last night I counted the amount of population they soak up, so I need more houses. If Inno could tell me where the balance is, i would be happier. In fellowship trails I feel I can't hold up my part.
In trader, to say they are the same value as marble or wood..is rubbish.
