Open | In progress Goods tabs Main Hall multiplying

C-Nymph

Necromancer
Just noticed that if you buy KP's while you have the Main Hall screen open, the goods tabs in the Main Hall will multiply to the left and right sides. All extra tab-buttons appear to be functional, although they're not very useful in addition to the already existing original three tab buttons ;)

Made a video-capture of the issue:

Cache-refresh didn't fix the issue, and it can be reproduced, as I tested it on both Chrome and Firefox browsers and two different PC's, and also appears to happen on different servers (confirmed on EN1 and US3). Fellowship-members see the same thing when they try it out.

Current version: v1.181.4-(e320c1e) - html5 (2023-08-18 14:40)

It works for me too.
Not sure if "works" is the correct term for a bug but anyway :)

Oooo that's an odd one!! Two ticks! Might need you to raise a Ticket in a moment @C-Nymph
Seems odd to me that I'd have to raise a ticket since it's not a bug that is personal to me but seems to occur for everyone... What's the logic behind that if I may ask? Why would a bug report on the forum not be enough?
Honest question here, not meant to be annoying or uncooperative :)

As this is the first report we have received from any player regarding this, we ask for a ticket to be raised so we can see if we can replicate under the same circumstances as you are seeing this ie same browser, same version etc: etc:
The game is not designed to have multiple windows open in this manner, which I believe is the problem here. But to be certain we would always prefer to bug test and we do not do that from the Forum - only support.

Alright, thanks for explaining!
So if I understand correctly, I do need to raise a ticket now? Because @Herodite’s message to me seemed to be “Let me check, I’ll let you know if you need to raise a ticket” so I was waiting for a follow up :D

I would raise a ticket, looks like that is what is required for further investigation as will give them extra info.

But to be certain we would always prefer to bug test and we do not do that from the Forum - only support.
Just to add; this surprises me. I honestly thought by reporting it here, the mods (or whoever takes care of the bug reporting part of the forum here) would communicate the bugs higher up to where it needs to go.
If bugs are best tested via ticket raising, what is even the use of us reporting them here on the forum at all? Not sure what other extra info I should give in a support ticket than what I already gave here. I shared the version, browser(s), the exact manoeuvre to replicate it even with video-capture guidance...
It seems the bug reporting on the beta forum works totally different then...? Should I just never report a bug here? Because what is the use if you'd rather I raise a ticket? I honestly just don't understand.

To be clear - the bug does not bug me (pun intended), I'm only reporting it because I thought Inno would want to know about it. It's not causing any problems in the functionality of the game, so I am just as happy to leave it be :P

From support they can look directly at your city and see the exact info in the game, from the forum they cannot link direct to your city to look at stats etc. I would still send in that ticket then the game devs can check it out.

They do indeed report them to me @C-Nymph and in many cases we are already aware due to a received ticket in support, in this situation we do not always need additional tickets.
For this current situation, this is the first report we have had for this, as mentioned this is probably due to multiple windows being open in the game, which we do not recommend as this can lead to all sorts of display issues. But we would still like to look deeper into this to be sure this is the issue at play here.
So yes, please raise a support ticket :)

My point here was that it's not only a thing that happens in my city but can and has already been replicated by other players. The mods/devs/CM's therefore might as well then just use one of their own cities (I'm sure all the mods/devs have one they can use) to check what the problem is now that they see it's not a thing that's limited to one account only.
Checked it on Win 7+10, Chrome+Firefox, and multiple player-accounts on two different servers (EN1 and US3).
But anyway...
So yes, please raise a support ticket :)
I will do that.

My question though remains; what's the use of reporting bugs on the forum if nothing can or will be done/checked after a bug was reported here? Just seems weird to me and a bit useless that I have to report this once again in a different place.
I then don't see the added value of actually going through the trouble of reporting a bug on the forum here next time something occurs. Am I stupid in thinking that?

this is probably due to multiple windows being open in the game, which we do not recommend as this can lead to all sorts of display issues.

Also, I make use of having multiple screens open all the time. Like in a situation where I want to buy kp and use coin rains to do so. I'll have the inventory screen open with the coin rain instants, click on them, and when the coin bar nears completion, click on the "+" next to the kp bar which opens the buy kp screen and spend the coins there. Close the buy kp screen and continue filling the coin bar with coin rain instants in the inventory screen that remains open, rinse repeat. Has never lead to any problems. And it prevents the oh so annoying extra mouse clicks of going back to your city first before opening the other screen. This game is already so heavily dependent on mouseclicks, anything I can do to prevent extra unnecessary clicks is a win for me ;)

If this is an official game recommendation, then, maybe consider changing the game to actually prevent this from being possible?

I now have the issue with just the main hall window open and no others. Happened to me just pressing the goods tabs, but tested buying kp also and that makes it the same as @C-Nymph above.

Sent in a ticket to support.

In addition to what our darling @Silmaril has said, it does help to raise these things via the Forum because it allows us to see if this is affecting multiple users, and it could possibly be a known issue that we can address here without the need to raise a Ticket. Also, when escalating issues, it helps that we have a Ticket to refer to :)

So yes it can sometimes feel like we asking you to duplicate things for the fun of it but I pinky promise we're not :D

Kind Regards

Herodite.

Without going into detail as we are not allowed to post replies from support, the bug has been passed to the team for investigation with hope of a fix in coming updates.

Should everyone experiencing the same issue raise a ticket?
At risk of spamming you?
