Question Ch.22 Main Quest - collect elixir?

and no residences
...I need some to produce Unurium with the Vallorian Seal Tower - it's not about the population - I have more than enough of that - there are currently 582000 unemployed people...

...the culture bonus affects the community work that you have to produce in the residences at Chapter 21 - it also affects the canned goods, which you can only produce in the workshops in Chapter 22...so in the last chapters you'll need more of it...

...both also provide prosperity, which you need from Chapter 21 onwards to be able to set up guest race buildings...

Yeah people keep telling me, but I can't see myself going back to the boredom of a residence and workshop laden city scape. So long as I can find a slow way around it then I am OK.

...number one cities usually looks like this...

=70 armories

...but I don't care about ranking points...that player has more than 14 M ranking points - I have 2,7 M.... :p

Kudos for the ranking points, but I can't see how those type of cities get anything done. I wonder what research chapter they find themselves locked in? It seems a bit self-defeating in some ways.

..they`ve already finished chapter 22 - partly after one or two days - most of them are CC-Players - they don't care about money - it's just to be Number one - we have also people, who have 10 Twilights or 3 Fire Phoenix - just to dominate the tournament - and that's only possible, if you've paid a huge amount of real money - for me it has nothing to do with playing games anymore...

I really don't understand what the draw is.

My first day playing Elvenar, back in 2017, after setting up my little plot and building the Main Hall, I had a little search around the interface. I noticed you could see the top 50 cities on the server and the first thing I did was to excitedly click on the person who was number one. I thought I was going to see this huge magical city that looked like something out of a fairytale. Surely the number 1 ranked player is so good at this that there will be some kind of incredible design and things to explore.

When the city opened up, all I saw was a sea of pale blue roofs, which were S&D magic residences. I was so disappointed and decided that would never be me if I kept playing the game.

I've no doubt told that story before, so apologies if I sound all like "During the war..."

...the problem is, that the ranking in Elvenar has nothing to do how "good" you are or whether your style of play is very efficient...it's just about what buildings you have in your city - ranking points depend on how many workers and culture a building requires - event buildings require nothing - so there are no points - this was changed for a short time (2017), but led to a big outcry from the top 10 players and was then abolished...

...ah - I noticed "event buildings give ranking points" was only a bug, that has been fixed quickly...

...now I'm sad - this was posted by my dear friend Flabbes - we lost her in Feb. 2020 - I'm afraid she died of corona - she sent me a message, that she's very sick with high fever and wanted to go to the hospital the next day - we never heard of her again...:(

Exactly. Hence why I realised that ranking points carried no meaning. For me, anyway. To each his own. I always wished that Inno would find a way to reward good city design. I know that it wouldn't be easy. But if I am running a city building game, then that is what I would be trying to figure out. However, to the contrary, Inno very actively encourages everyone to have the same city which doesn't look like a city.

That is very sad indeed.
