Yeah, I have a few AWs that I will be leaving at around L15 or L20. It's not worth the pain of upgrading the blighters in order to obtain a small additional benefit.

There is a small, select handful that I'm in the process of getting to L35 though.

Be very interested in your opinions on which ones hun? Thank you! I am coming up to L15 on most of mine so will be looking more closely at each upgrades worthiness from now on.

Thanks for your interest @Lady K. Everyone has a different playing style, with different priorities. For me the AWs I want to get to L35, or have already reached L35 are currently:

I didn't realise, but now I list them it's most of my AWs that are on my L35 wish-list. Particularly those AWs that reduce goods decay, or provide troop boosts.

Now I'll wait for someone to tell me how my high level AWs are killing my game.

It's looking like by the time I get there, I will have about a million orcs piled up from Frostgem, Orc Nests and Witch's Hut.

I had about half a million orcs a few chapters back and I thought that was a huge amount. After one or two upgrades, they had all been used up!! You need mega amounts at times. I currently have 3.65 million, and don't consider that to be huge.

Someone once told me that the AWs improve their offers after multiples of 5 upgrades. If this is still true, it may be worth stopping at level 6, 11, 16, 21 etc. Or perhaps this effect was changed when the AW changes took place.

They get a boost from the difficulty of re-runing and supplying RRs per level. Difficult.

I've found one side effect of deleting armories: garden stones lose power, so the loss is armory levels x number of garden stones. There are probably other multipliers because a lot of the numbers older players come up with for culture or training bonuses doesn't track with what's in the wiki.
