Artefacts for crafting

Dear Humans and Elves,

On April 13th, the reward dataset for the Spire of Eternity was adjusted for the next 6 weeks. Changes:

• Verdant Phoenix was phased out as a possible reward for the Spire of Eternity.
• Purring Sanctum Artifact was phased in instead.
• Purring Sanctum building and Sorcerer Trials Artifacts were also phased in for crafting.

This is the recent update (I can't reply on that thread). My question is: Is it actually meaningful whenever you say something like "Purring Sanctum building and Sorcerer Trials Artifacts were also phased in for crafting"? It occurs to me that there are certain artefacts that we will see all the time, like the original phoenix ones, but everything else is just entirely random and painfully infrequent (for any that a person may be waiting on).

This week I am very happy that a Steam Golem artefact appeared for crafting in my menu. I snapped it up. This was the one event I mostly missed way back when. Since that time I have diligently looked out for artefacts to craft. This is the second time one has appeared for me. The first one was over a year previous to that. So I don't really know what it means when something gets "phased in". It isn't like Steam Golem was the last one reported to be phased in and I never see any pattern in which ones might appear. I never see a glut of any new type. Far from it.

We adhere to a strict pattern between the Spire and the Magic Academy, and announce this to assist players who are awaiting a specific Artifact etc: This would allow notice for using Sips of Clarity to maximise the ability to obtain these.
There are a few different ways to maximise the Recipe's, not least crafting some of the items that you do not want, but frequently appear in the slots, as an eg: the Chess Set once crafted and place in your inventory, will stop appearing, and therefore release a little more space for your desired Recipe to occur.
Is this along the lines of what you were thinking @Pauly7 ?

And this is exactly what I am questioning, as I mentioned above. When I first got the Steam Golem artefact to craft, over a year ago, I then dropped somewhere between 30 and 40 sips, with the notion that maybe there's a pattern, but nothing. And I waited that whole next year for another to appear. It eventually did, during a time when it had been announced that something else had been "phased in for crafting". And during those times I have never seen that advertised artefact start appearing multiple times... And all the while all the other artefacts continue to appear or not appear in exactly as random a way as they always do.

The exception to this is when an event allows old phoenix artefacts to be crafted from the new ones. These appear a lot during said event, and for a while after.

So whilst theres a pattern to the appearance in The Spire and then the Magic Academy I don't actually believe it follows a pattern from an Event point of view... so an Autumn Event Artifact would follow a Summer Event Artifact, and then a Halloween Artifact would follow an Autumn Event Artifact... that doesn't seem to happen and I assume the randomness to the availability is intended.

I've noticed like you @Pauly7 that similar Artifacts and Tomes appear in Crafting around certain Events! Which is helpful because you can kind of try to plan! (An example of course is the current Phoenix Tome available for crafting now during this Event...) BUT with regards to any discernable pattern for the Artifacts available in The Spire, I don't believe there is one.

I'd like to upgrade a lot of my evolving base buildings, but after the Gingerbread house fiasco, I'm a bit nervous about selling an old base building off in the hope it appears in my MA. My oldest evolving base buildings are from when I was in chapter 8 (aureate and storm pheonix), I've since finished all the chapters and have a lot of level 1 base buildings and 315 artefacts, I don't need more.

For the Spire to Crafting rotation pattern though.... I did make a little chart many moons ago that I believe still holds up!

The crafting cycle graphic is interesting, but it still doesn't give any more validity to whether this is actually what is playing out.

To put this another way, this is what was announced on 24th February:

I can't say this with any certainty, because I haven't been looking out for them, but I don't have any recollection of seeing a Hearthbloom artefact appear in my crafting menu over the past 6 weeks. However, I have seen a Steam Golem artefact, I have seen at least 2 Witch Doctor artefacts (I see it and keep thinking it is Steam Golem), I have definitely seen a Soul Lab artefact, and many others besides.

May be its easy to make artifact exchange at traiders? F.e. i put for sales NY artefact for Hearthbloom. And someone collecting (example) NY sees Hearthbloom avaliable to craft. And snatches it to pm me about possible trade. Bouth could be happy.
It should make collecting easier and allow to concentrate on few buildings, giving the rest artifacts for change?

I should clarify- There is nothing that I am asking for, or am in need of, for myself. Should they ever introduce a system to trade or replace artefacts, that is a different question. (I don't think that will happen, by the way, because Inno has always thrown out the notion of any kind of old artefact repurposing).

The thread was purely to try to get to the bottom of whether there is any truth to whenever they say that certain artefacts are either "phased in" or "phased out" for crafting. I suspect not, though I certainly don't expect an admission of it.

Dont forget randomness. They can phase it in, but it will not come by luck. So it still is hard to rely on it.
