You never have to enter a phone number if you don't want to. There's always an option to skip that step. Two Factor Authentication is not mandatory in Discord. Having a valid e-mail address is, and also getting that verified by clicking the button in the confirmation mail.

Yes it does, the purple spell-icons show which buildings can be helped, the actual helping hands are 'hanging' underneath those purple spell icons and show which buildings have been helped. I refreshed but nothing has changed, still see the disco lights. But also the helping hands when applying...

Funny, I'm still seeing it, including the disco feature. I'll do a cache refresh to see if that changes things.

Three with hands, one without hand. That wasn't visible on browser before indeed! On app it was visible with a sort of purple 'beam' above the spell, but this is even better.

Yes, they're really annoying. Especially as I was just now collecting resources from all my event buildings, and was getting confused thinking I missed a collection because something still appeared to be bouncing up and down in the corner of my eye, but it was the annoying disco lights.

Exactly, I've always had my city graphic quality on low already because otherwise the lag gets even worse, and I still had this visual glitch, so sadly this is not the solution...

What chapter are you in? Because tournaments only unlock in chapter 4. You also have to be a member of a fellowship to be able to take part. So it could be that you saw a message pop up that a tournament started, but that you don't have access to it yet... Here's some more info...

It crossed my mind that you were maybe showing some sarcasm there, but I went for the helpful reply just in case you were being serious ;)
