A new Challenge just started in Beta Server - so perhaps we will see it in the Live Worlds next week.

It is identical to previous editions - you gain medals to win rewards from any of the 6 different Workshop runs, and any of the 4 types of Spell.

I like these! They are a harmless way to add spice to a week without making things over-challenging - and the more of these they have, the fewer Adventures - which I find a bit stressful if they repeat too often.

There is no building reward - just Combining Catalysts and Vision Vapors.

The quests I can see on Gems of Knowledge ask for "1 Enchantment item" or various workshop items. My guess would be that includes spells and crafted items, or just do the workshop thing. Would need to a beta to player to confirm properly.

Are two of the event quest lines asking for enchantment items, that is, for crafted items?

"Enchantment item" means a spell.
Jack's facebook and GoK's list are both using a google translate from the italian list, here's a better one:

I believe an enchantment means just that. Power of Provisions, Ensorcelled Endowment, Magical Manufacturing, Inspring Meditation and Combining Catalyst are all enchantments in the game, and can be found in your inventory under the enchantments tab.

Blueprints now visible in Inventory

Here is something interesting that just appeared in the Mobile App!

At present only in Beta Server - and that would also depend on which version of the game is in your App Store (I got this from a fellowship member; mine does not have this; it shows broken shards)

UPDATE: Apparently it's not just Beta and not different versions - it depends on what recipes you have. If you have recipes that need shards or blueprints, then mobile shows their number. Once these recipes are gone, you don't see them anymore.

Wow, thanks for the info, I totally missed that! Not only on Beta Server - this is from here, from Winyandor international server. App version 1.76.1, iOS:

Uh oh @JackLuyt looks like you might have cobbled together some bad info.:p

Great, now if I sing the chant of summoning on a harvest moon beneath the ancient oak tree then I can see how many of one of the games most valuable items I have. :p

Interesting, I haven't seen much discussion about the Evolution of the Phoenix Event.

By my accounting and estimation, the event has 114 sequential quests offering a total of 4,048 Sky Essence, it should have 28 daily quests totaling 980 Sky Essence, and the dropped eggs, which I will estimate at 24 Sky Essence/day totaling 672 Sky Essence, suggesting a grand total of 5,700 Sky Essence for the entire event.

If you are going for Grand Prizes/Phoenix Artifacts:

The average of the 7 best chests for overall Feather production (why would you open the 2 worst) is 22.2 Sky Essence per Feather, and each Grand Prize requires 20 feathers, so I predict 444 Sky Essence per Grand Prize, which suggests 12.8 Grand Prizes. Phoenix Artifacts are odd numbered Grand Prizes, so this then suggests 6 Phoenix Artifacts.

Wow, that's not a lot of PAs, given that we get three buildings that have 10 stages, so can be evolved 9 times, so ultimately wanting 27 PAs...

If you are going for Daily Prizes:

The average of the 7 best chests for Daily Prizes is 303 Sky Essence per Daily Prize, which suggests 18.8 Daily Prizes.

So, what are people's thoughts about the Evolution of the Phoenix Event?

It's a bit of a mixed bag imo.
Pros:
  • new evolution system where you choose 1 Phoenix to level up a lot or 2 or 3 just a little.
  • super easy quests- probably the easiest major event ever.
  • no mixed T1 productions
  • no T1 24h or 48h productions
  • never more than 27 beverages in one sitting
Cons:
  • very lackluster "consolation" prizes when opening chests if you don't get the daily
  • all chests have low % chance to win daily, so it can feel grindy to open 20-30 before you win one.
  • Phoenicis are not balanced (fire has clearly superior stats)
  • Daily prizes so far don't offer much for late game players (1 timer day, 1 seeds bldg, 1 mana bldg, 3 low pop hybrids and 6 pure culture so far)

Would you mind posting the best chests in order, for maximum # grand prizes?

List of chests from best (1) to worst (7) that give the best value for money in terms of feathers gained.
Note that the Bronze and Gold chests have the same value for money, hence why they have the same rank number. Same goes for Green and Sea Green.
